Continuing with elephants: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/a-dream-o
"...The San Antonio Zoo continues to hold its only surviving Asian elephant, the woefully misnamed Lucky, in solitary confinement since the death of her companion, Alport, in November 2007. Elephants are intensely social animals who need companionship in order to thrive. Free-ranging elephants live in large matriarchal family groups in which females remain with their mothers for life. Unlucky Lucky has been alone for over a year, and without another Asian elephant since 2004. The zoo refuses to do right by Lucky and send her to a sanctuary where she can live in a spacious, natural environment with others of her species, even though San Antonio's plan is to replace Lucky with African elephants. Experience has shown that solitary elephants can turn into social butterflies in sanctuary settings, yet the San Antonio Zoo stubbornly continues to isolate Lucky in an outdated exhibit far too small to meet her natural needs. The San Antonio Zoo can change this sad elephant's luck by moving her to a sanctuary without delay. This is the zoo's second appearance on IDA's Ten Worst Zoos list......"
If you ever needed another reason to believe that animals are wonderful intelligent creatures, watch this:
Ahhhhhhhhh cant get to Sutton Coldfield today :( way too much rain, I even made a packed lunch XD
Instead Im gonna turn attentions to a couple of sites and news items I have found today:
1. I love this site :D: http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/click
You just click the button and food gets donated to animals in need, there is also buttons for rainforests and world hunger.
2. An animal sanctuary in Scotland is threatened with closure, have a read and help out: http://www.gopetition.co.uk/online/22833.h
3. After the elections 16 Green Councillors now have seats :D. The Conservatives seem to have taken control of the country, which is horrible. People may argue that it is better than Labour in power but the Tories are nasty and I dont like them at all. One of the reason is their virtually non existant efforts on the environment and animal welfare. This explains more: http://www.vote4animals.org.uk/euroelect

The local PDSA in Northfield got damaged the other day. If you arent familiar with what them:
PDSA means People's Dispensary for Sick Animals
They are a charity that prodives free consultations for the sick pets of people who cant afford it (consultations are very exspensive, Ive paid for a couple myself in my time) And this particular branch helps pets in the Aston and Quinton area.
It saddens me that some stupid cunt decided to trash the windows. Did they not think of the safety of the people inside? The cost to the shop was £500. Thats probably a large amount of the final takings. It could of meant the difference bewteen a saved pet and a lost pet. That cunt could of been a killer of a human and/or an animal. I hope they get caught and done.
When I went in today to drop off some donations to help them out there were lots of people buying stuff so its nice to see that people were wanting to help them out :D maybe there are some good people in the world......
Tomorrow is World Environment Day and im all geared up :D Ill be taking photos of the Sutton Coldfield Climate Change Festival either tomorrow or Saturday. Look out for stuff.
For my first entry I will show you some photos for the recent Climate Change rally in Coventry. I hope they arent too bad of quality :D WARNING: BIIIIIIIIIIG PHOTOS :D
